This may be the best bang for your buck around, as it's an entry level ball only in price.
I've found the Strike King to be everything I wanted my Meanstreak to be: effortless length and glide through the mids with a strong, predictable response to friction. Plus the carry is superb.
The Strike King is a great ball for anything from dry to medium and would be good for both lower rev/speed bowlers and the crankers who don't want a ball to overreact.
It is a perfect step down from the Ringer, which is another ball that's stronger than advertised and for me a medium oil ball. All that ball needs is some oil up front and it's gold.
But when the heads are starting to dry up and the backends are screaming, switch to the Strike King and you can play until the lanes get toasted. I am amazed at how far back this ball will come from when you want to open up the lanes. But tug it left into the oil and it actually holds the line too well. You are looking at a split because the ball doesn't want to go to Brooklyn.
Not a lot of videos out there I think because this ball is so entry level Brunswick didn't give it out. But it is worth every penny.

It is a super ball. I bought two when they were released and plan on buying another one or two. Drilled one on the Rico pattern and one a little more aggressive layout with a flare increasing x-hole. They can handle even more then medium oil with some surface work. It really is a lot of ball for the money.

Yes, it's a very good ball, and I agree with you on the Ringer. Mine is pretty strong!

I'm with you kidlost, this ball is so good -- especially at this price point -- that I may need to get another. Of course I'm considering the new Melee too!

It reminds me of the Vibe in a lot of ways for a lot of ball at a great price. The difference being this series will likely not see the same kind of cover change as the vibes did. Still an easy ball to change surface and try different layouts on to cover a lot of different conditions.
It doesn't have the appeal of saying I'm throwing big ball "know one cares" that lots of people get hung up on versus what scores.

I picked mine up from the proshop on Friday afternoon. Layout was 75* x 5" x 45*, no weight hole, box finish. Pin is above the ring finger, and CG is just left of grip center. Took it to league on Friday night and shot 218-300-213 for 731.
The ball and layout gave me exactly the look I wanted for the shot in my Friday night league. The center has light volume and older AMF synthetics, so there is a lot of early friction. I was able to play just inside the 3rd arrow, out to about 7 or 8 at the breakpoint. Ball gets excellent length and a hard, but controllable response to friction.
The Strike King is a winner in my book.

Mine is drilled very similar to Direct Drill, except mine has the CG slightly positive. Say, 45 X 5 X 65.
Mine really pushes. It has a nice strong but not angular move. I have seen many others drilled a touch stronger that are very angular.
Mine with this drilling almost never goes Brooklyn either on a top hat, but few splits and lots of carry of course 7 pins happen on my side!

For me a dual 110 x 30 x 65 works, also a stroker at 14mph. I went 252 out of the box on game#1 using this. Then bought a 2nd ball and put a X-Grip on it.

I have a columbia freeze solid that i think is a great ball for the money , out performs my high performance stuff on med-light oil

I was just at a good friends pro shop. He carries only Ebo/Hammer/Track Columbia.
I tried to tell him how great this ball is for any soft speed bowler with its push and smooth hard move! He didn't listen but those who are buying are ecstatic.
Bowled at a new house and really had a nice look with my 4 1/4 pin to Pap drilled Sonic Boom. Swithched to the Strike King moved left between two and 3 and went on a little strike blitz with this ball! Realized I could have torn up the house with this one too!
I could see me having 3 of this orb! One duller! One stronger drilled and this one 5 by 5 on this weaker core!
Great long push strong/recovery coverstock!
