Is there a different Black tape these days?
« on: December 30, 2008, 09:37:18 AM »
i recently ordered 100 pieces of Brunswick 1 in. black tape. I have used this tape for a while. I have always got a tape that was thick, somewhat firm, and truely altered your thumbhole the way tape should. I think it is a defect or something.

The tape that I got which for some reason had Brunswick KR Strikeforce in bigger letters going down the roll of tape. The tape itself was thin, highly flexible, and doesn't seem to stick very well. It is so thin it doesn't alter your thumbhole at all, much like Valentino's Franken tape.

I have never seen this tape from brunswick and I wasn't pleased when this showed up to my door, it is worthless. I have emailed them twice and they all they say is that it shouold be like the typical brunswick tape they have always sold. They said I could send it back, but would have to pay shipping and insurance for it, probably a restocking fee, but I have used 1 piece which came out mid game because of lack of adherence. By the time I do all that I will probably pay over half of whatI payed for the stuff.

A good place like buddies would probably send me a new roll free of charge if this took place, won't be doing business with bowlingball.com anymore.

Anyone seen this tape from brunswick

It's all thin and limp.  I mean it will work the same, but it's hard to get in the hole.

To update my post, this tape sucks!  For all of you bashing, back off, there is a HUGE difference between these two tapes and it's terrible.  The old stuff was thick and when you tried to roll it up to a half circle to put it in the ball it would try and open up on you.  This new stuff folds right in half.

If you only need 1 piece, it would be fine, besides there is no way it's an inch thick, but 2 or more pieces forget about it.

Lane, I feel for you man, 100 pieces of crappy tape, I hope you didn't pay too much.

I got mine for free from the shop, so I took it all out and now I'll find better tape, but man if I would have paid I'd be angry too.

Okay I'm done
