Smokin (white pin) vs. Blazing
« on: November 17, 2006, 10:46:27 AM »
I have a smokin white pin on the way and would like to know how it compares to the blazing. Same bowler,lanes,drill,statics,ect...

I had a Blazing a while back and it was pretty mild and not what I wanted at the time. I sold it to my buddy over a year ago and he let me use it in league the other night. I loved it and was able to play up the boards and just felt comfortable doing so. Back when I had it I was still wanting to hook the lane with every ball. Now I have been in search for a light-medium oiler that I can play straight or small swing with.

Will the Smokin(white pin) fill this void and how similar will the reaction be to the blazing?

Thanks for any help you can supply.

Tim

I had a Blazing, and I now own a Smokin' (white pin). For me, they are comparable on medium conditions, but I think that the Blazin' grabbed the lane just a touch quicker. On lighter oil, however, the Smokin' is much, much more aggressive for me. On lighter patterns, I have to move inside and swing the ball with speed or it's going high. The Smokin' also offers a much sharper backend move. They both hit and carry quite well. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks Gene! I think I remember you saying you were gonna sand the cover on you white pin. What surface are you using on it?

Cute Bunny! copy bunny into sig to help him achieve world domination.

The difference between me and you is that I know how to make spares and strikes.

The red pin is the original release and the white pins are marked so because the cover cured harder, therfore it is a little weaker in reaction. Just like the Classic Zone balls.(green pin and red pin)
