Which current balls are comparable to these?

Karma solid - Perhaps the LT-48, but my LT-48  is probably slightly stronger.

Karma pearl - I'd say the Burgundy Ringer would be close, but again, maybe a tad stronger.

Lane is correct those balls would probably be closest...I also like a blue ringer with some shine to replace the solid.  It would probably be a tad smoother down the lane.

Thanks, guys. The reason I asked, is that I have these two in good condition and I wanted to know if it was worth it to have them plugged and re-drilled for my new span and pitches.

Both are excellent balls...the solid had a lot of hook for the money with a controllable backend reaction and the pearl was a great complement with a little less hook in the midlane.

Clarification please, is the Karma Pearl you all are talking about the Green one with PK 18 or the Pink Black one with Activator"?

Different reactions I think!

Buck, Thank you.

Is that what the other posters are thinking of?  Also?

Also as far as the Ringer and Ringer Solid.  Isn't that core a little less flare, a little different shape with more midlane and smooth continuation than say these Karmas.

Also stronger more continuous  coverstocks in the Ringer series?

That is what I see...

Lefty,

In my reply I was referring to the pink/purple Karma pearl. I thought of it as a Danger Zone reaction, but more colorful.  It does have Activator Plus coverstock, which is a personal favorite of mine.

As far as the Ringers, each of mine has been stronger than their price point would indicate.  My blue sold with polish is as strong on THS as anything with an exceptional midlane and finish. It's still a smooth reaction,  just strong.  The Platinum is the longest through the heads of the three.

We all bowl on such a wide range of conditions,  not to mention bowler styles, that we'll see some differences from one guy to the next.  I'm a huge fan of the Ringer line because of their exceptional value to the average bowler on the conditions they mostly see.

Lane, in my original post, the pearl was the green/blue. What are your thoughts on that ball as far as a current comparison?

As far as I can recall, the green/blue was a little weaker than the pink/purple Karma, as far as coverstock, so in my estimation the Platinum Ringer would be closest, but with more "pop" the last 10 feet or so.

The current line of Strike Kings would be a small step down from the Karma.  I think they'd go a tad longer with nice finish (once they find the friction).  Hope this helps.

I have a Rico drill jarma pearl along with a Rico drill Strike King and they are board for board with each other. If you want one similar to the solid just adjust surface.

So, in a nutshell:

Blue/Black Solid = LT-48 or polished Ringer Solid

Green/Blue Pearl = Platinum Ringer or Strike King

Pink/Purple Pearl = Burgundy Ringer

Is that correct?

I'd consider both solid and pearl Karmas equal with the Strike King. The Pink Karma is going to be closer to the Ringer series.(not the solid)

The Solid Ringer is much stronger and almost board for board with the Beatdown.
