Brunswick Ringer Solid(polished) vs LT 48
« on: September 03, 2014, 11:41:41 AM »
Just bowled last night with a Senior throwing an LT 48.  Medium to slower speed medium revs.  Surprisingly on our very wet dry shot a lot of push and though a usually sharp move on the break It didn't seem to go high very often....

I also have seen a bunch of videos of the Ringer Solid.  That one seems very even but very little push when in it's out of box finish.  Anyone here who has polished up their Ringer Solid and compared it to their LT48?

The reaction of the guy in my house and drilling was not too far off from Curlie's drilling and throw in this video at 1:49.  Quite sharp on this very blended condition.  Sharper on our wet dry?

Polish on a Ringer Solid will look like?  How sharp is this LT 48?

The Ringer Solid is earlier and hooks more than the LT 48 when comparing them with the same surfaces.  It will clear the fronts much better with polish but not as well as the LT 48.

I agree with Chris. Having  just put some high gloss on my blue Ringer.  Although I haven't thrown both side by side yet, I believe the Ringer is still earlier and more total hook than the LT-48.

I love both, and they are an incredible value at their price point.

Guys thanks for the answers.

Regarding the length, The LT48 is listed at 500, Royal Compound, Royal Shine(are those Royals the old Rough buff and Factory Finish Polish?)

The Ringer 500, 2000?  If prepared the same do you believe similar push?

As far as angularity.  The LT48 looks very angular to me.....I was shocked at the soft speed bowler we bowled the other day was able to hold the pocket....with his near double thumb layout and lack of control of the breakpoint.  However even when going wide and hitting the harsh dry of our wet dry the ball made a very sharp move and then held.....

Comments on angularity on the LT 48?  It doesn't really look like the senior rev heavy wet dry ball to me....but....it impressed me the other night.

Thanks,

I drill most of the LT-48s pin down to make them a bit more smooth off the spot. By finishing without shine it also reads more predictably.
My friend with a higher rev rate than mine found it more angular (using my ball) .

NotClay,

It sounds like my eyes were NOT deceiving me on the LT 48 but I liked the push of the coverstock.  Still shiny.

Regarding the Ringer Solid, anyway to get it closer to the push of the LT 48?  And also increase it's angularity?  I'm guessing....

Yes, Lefty, you could add a step of Royal Compound before the Royal Shine.  The longer you delay the hook, the more angular it should be, providing you find adequate friction.

I took my Blue Ringer and added a small dose of the Royal Shine before I even used it, because of where I wanted the reaction.  I love what I see so far.  I also love the
LT-48 and what it's given me.  Both are keepers!

I will say one thing, that Blue Ringer is a beast. I've been using mine regularly on my Wednesday night league and my results have been really good. Best start to a league season than i have ever had. i can even bump inside when the outside gets a little burn to it and it still carries. I have been able to use the ball for every game in every set so far. I really like what I am seeing with the blue ringer. Between that and my Mystic Aura, I think these are two of my all time favorites. I also have a Melee and that wasn't quite what I expected, but a good ball nonetheless. My first time rolling the Brunswick stuff started last December and I have yet to be disappointed.

Started out throwing with no holes pin above right ring using my developing two handed style righty!) Ball was slow, lumbering and DOA.  I then applied some of the Brunswick Factory Polish right at the center by hand(I love that about this stuff!).

The ball came to life and had less hook than my Meanstreak Beatdown but a great rounded move with just a touch of angularity!  Oh My!  As Mrs. O says on the video.....

Anyway I am looking forwarded to punching this beautiful moving league shot star.  It will be pin up or pin in ring!
