Layout for a Zone Classic...
« on: April 19, 2006, 10:38:28 AM »
Well I just got my Zone Classic and am looking for suggestions on a layout.  The ball itself has a 2-3 inch pin and 2.7 oz of TW.  I want this ball for the medium range of oil.  I was thinking about having the pin over and to the right of the ring, maybe 4.5" from PAP with the PSA kicked out toward the VAL.  I'm not super knowledgeable about Asymmetric balls so what would be the difference between having the PSA kicked out like that versus having it next to the thumb?

That's my favorite layout! Get the x-hole on the PAP and you'll have a sweet rolling ball Dan!

Generally with PSA location, the closer it gets to the track the longer the ball will lope. Closer to the VAL, the earlier the ball will start to read and smoother overall.

They don't recommend going past the grip centerline, but then again, it is all related to your PAP.

WSU,

This ball is so clean through the heads I might recommend putting the pin under the ring to get it rolling a little earlier so you don't get as much over/under. Put the MB at about 60 degrees and you'll probably need a thumb positive weight hole, about 1.5" to 2" below the PAP on the VAL.

I thought about going with a pin under drill, but was concerned that it might be start rolling too early.  I suppose with the polished finish length wouldn't be an issue.  My guess is I'll be happy with whatever I stick on it.

I have 3 ZC I still like the pin under ring MB on VAL the most, but whatever way you drill it you'll till love it.  This ball just nice.  I still have 3 NIB for myself.
