Loaded Revolver and Propel X coverstock
« on: December 24, 2012, 11:22:38 PM »
Just drilled mine up after looking at it for almost 6 months on my shelves.

Lately in this house I'd been having some nice results with balls drilled stacked under the ring finger.  Mostly lower and mid level balls from Rotogrip, Sonic X's, Sonic Booms, and Rising Stars.  This drilling with these weaker mid core strength balls seemed to get the balls catching the midlane at about 30 feet outside on this wet dry shot.  Then provided smooth strong arcs and hit on this 35 foot shot!

Thought I would try this rumored to be smooth coverstock and strong midlane core.

Because of videos I had seen and reviews I had read I decide I wanted to try to add a touch of backend.  Pin a little up and less use of the flare potential.  Pin up and a pin positon of 5 1/4 from my PAP.

This ball surprised me how far it pushed.  With a coverstock prepared according to the info sheets like my Ulti Max the length and lack of midlane surprised me.
Then the ball like many of the reviews say and videos show slurved strongly and continously towards the pocket.  Then I'd like to say SMASH, but I can't.  Most moves were late leaving a flat 7.

My experience so far is a lot like this review..
by Dennis Rhodes.  Very similar, not enough midlane.

so hear are my questions
1.  how come this ball is so much longer than the C System Ultimax with similar drilling and listed same surface presentation.
2.   Why does this ball move so smoothly off the dry(I have never had a pearl read so smoothly)
3.   To move the break a little earlier, would you just let the track dig in a little bit?  Or would you add surface?  Or would you add a midlane inducing weight hole.
4.  Will more grit still allow the ball to smooth when sensing dry?

Regards.

"You nailed it.  I flush , then flush, then flush, but all of a sudden ping a flat one, left move goes high unlike weaker core balls in my arsenal.

I tried moving back yesterday on same walking path at the suggestion of one of our high levels in the house and that seemed to reflush and carry."

So then you have your answer
…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Buddies has a bunch of these left for $69.99.  Killer deal if you have a hookup on cheap drilling.
