looking for a ball
« on: May 21, 2006, 03:00:13 PM »
current collection

15lb smokin' inferno
15lb strike zone
14lb power groove reactive

Im looking for a ball for carrydown conditions, especially with the fronts and mids really, really dry. I don't know what type of ball would cover this type of condition, im thinking a nemesis or an ambush, but I have no experience with the BVP line.

I have a tweener/stroker release

The Smokin should shine in carrydown situations due to the strength of the cover with a higher RG core.  The Ambush is sneaky in how strong it can be downlane.  That might work well with the right drilling.

I'd say get an Absolute and put a high RG drill in it.  That should do the trick

The Smokin works well on a broken down shot with some carry down, however if there is a ton of it, then I found I have to make small moves to the right, and slow things down a bit to give the ball time to finish.  My only concern with switching to something stronger with the front and mids really dry, would be keeping the ball on the lane.   I dont think you need a new ball to deal with carry down, but you certainly have room between the Smokin and the SZ for an Absolute.  Too many people look for a new ball to handle carry down when that can be takin care of with adjustments.

good luck
