Looking for a ball.
« on: December 09, 2008, 02:55:33 PM »
I've been wanting to replace my TNV for awhile now and since all I am throwing latly is brunswick stuff I was wondering what would be a good replacement for it. I have a twisted (pearl) and a avp Love them both ! Need something stronger then what I have when I play deeper in oil and bounce off the dry. Thinking of one of the zones. Maxx to strong? smash to long? ultra to close to twisted? Help!

Destruction sounds about right with flip drilling, maybe a smash zone with the cover knocked down to 2k might work also.

I'd give the Ultra Zone a look.  For me, it has a *similar* move to the Twisted, but it's about three to five boards stronger overall.

I know you said you were looking for Brunswick but I bought a Roto-Grip Grand Illusion and this ball hooks.   I am not up on drilling so I can't really tell you how it is drilled but I love this ball so far.  I really recommend it, it is not a "snappy" ball but is very smooth and continuous through the pins.

If you love the Twisted pearl why not the twisted solid.  I have both and along with my avalanch pearl I pretty much have it all covered.

The ultra would fit your needs perfectly.
If you are looking for something newer, I would suggest a maxxx zone with the cover changed to 2000-4000 grit with polish.

Thanks for the info! I did look into the Grand illusion it looks like a good ball. Brunswick stuff seams to really fit my game however.Would the Maxx zone recover enough with the right surface and drilling? I turn the ball penty just dont want it to burn out seeing how its made for heavier volumes of oil? would love to give that ball a try. Really do like the Ultra too. I got a tough choice to make! thanks for the help.

i also agree with tarheel go out and get yourself a Grand Illusion i bought one to replace my fury pearle and love it shot 854 the first time out 300,298,256.sometimes its better to NOT limit yourself to one company.this was my first roto grip and it surely wont be my last.hope this helps you in your decision and good luck with your bowling

Smash Zone should be good with the low rg core. If it goes too long, just adjust the cover.
