Versa Max on wet dry
« on: March 22, 2012, 01:52:33 PM »
We have a real quality stroker in our house!

I had observed him one day throwing the ball beautifully in his league, 10 pin, 10 pin, 10 pin, strike.

I asked why of this fine stylist, he replied "That's urethane", "I can't control reactive in here".

Saw him again yesterday ripping the pocket a new spincter muscle, "Strike, Strike, Strike, 9 pin, strike".

I said "Reactive",   He said "Yes, Brunswick Versa Max".  I just had an 800 with it last week, and 740 last night and looked like he was heading to about 750 that night!  He was now up to about 14.5 at the pins too!

Wow, impressive controlled reaction!  I was impressed!

I just got one and going to go roll it for the first time today. Can't wait!

For me it's been a great piece to play up the boards with.

Don't know how quality I am, but I am a stroker who often doesn't carry on house shots.  I was thinking about trying the versa max anyway.  That may seal the deal.

3 - 300 games from 2001 through March 13th, 2012.

2 - 300 games from March 14, 2012 through March 21, 2012 with the Versa Max.  These were shot on the 41 foot USBC White Pattern which is a 5-1 ratio pattern and of a higher volume than most.

Most controllable ball off the dry I've seen since I had a Storm Tour Power about 10 years ago.  Gives me such a smooth reaction off of the dry.  I can play right, I can play left, I have a ball (Ordered a 2nd one this week) that gives me about as accurate a read of the lane conditions that I could hope for.  Versa Max is that ball we all miss in 2 years when it's off the shelves and you can't find any on EBAY.  I'm gonna stock up while I can!

Finally threw my VMax today. I'm a stroker, usually play up the 10 up to the middle arrow, depending on conditions.
The shot was leftovers from last night, so was kind of sloppy and spotty, but there was still oil, just all over the place. I didn't do great with it, but the fact is, I'm not all that great either, lol.
The ball was drilled pin over ring, weight hole, sorry, I got the specs somewhere, but anyway, the ball was really smooth and long and made a nice controlled left turn.  I moved to different lines to see how he ball moved, and for me, it was best around the 10 board. Solid hits, great carry.
