Fury and Fury Pearl
« on: November 20, 2007, 03:01:49 AM »
I have a Fury (layout in profile) with a shiney cover.  How much difference in ball reaction is there between a shiney Fury and a Fury Pearl if the layouts were similar?

I have a shiny pin high Fury and compared to my pin high Fury Pearl, the Fury has more overall hook because the cover is stronger than the pearl cover.

I agree. The Pearl is much weaker than the Solid. At this time my Fury is at 4000 Abralon, and a similarly drilled Fury Pearl even taken down to 2000 Abralon is considerably weaker than it's solid stablemate.

Thanks for the info.  My driller said the Fury does not hook as much as advertised and he is right.  I am considering the Fury Pearl as a compliment to the Fury to use on a THS to replace an aging The One.  I am hopeful the Fury Pearl would be a good step down and not too close in reaction.

I didn't mention that my shiny pin high Fury is one of the hardest backend balls in my bag.
