Inferno - Who is still using it?
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:44:36 AM »
Anyone still using the Original Inferno? Of all the balls I have (in my profile), I still find myself going back to the OI quite often. Mine is drilled 4.5" from PAP, pin under bridge. Has a lot of games on it and the plug is coming undone in the thumb hole but I'm still using it. What grit do you all have yours at?

I still throw mine time to time. I has been resurfaced 2-3 times and baked twice but it still has a decent reaction.

I still have 3, 2 of which I still use quite a bit while the other is a Michigan single drill drill with barely any games on it. Saving that one

It's still a ball that I can always count on so I keep 'em.

I have been throwing one lately because it fits me well and seems to match up best to what I find on medium conditions around here.  It was sanded to 400 grit and then polished with Columbia polish (similar to Brunswick's polishing procedure) but it went kind of long and was skid/flip and over under.  I knocked it down lightly with a 3m grey pad and now it rolls and hooks but lost maybe a little too much backend, unless the shot is a little heavier.  I am going to get three new balls done soon, but I think while I ditch everything else, I am going to Rough buff finish (per factory type procedure  220 then rough buff) this and keep it, which I think will keep the strong rolling character but save some pop for the finish.  My Original is an old ball but the coverstock is still in great shape.  It is pretty consistent, no surprises.

I have one and use it on short dry patterns.  it rolls nice and even on the backend.  mine has fewer than 10 games and is still at factory cover, never sanded or redrilled.  It's the best looking ball I have that's drilled.

I have an Original (not the remake) NIB 16lb in my basement that I am looking to sell.  If interested let me know.  Great ball.  Won State Doubles title a few years ago with one.  Just does not match up well in the centers in my area.
