Looking for Something more Continuous
« on: December 31, 2012, 03:43:23 PM »
O.k. Brunswick Heads, I am in a pickle. I currently have a Motiv Arsenal and I am trying to build a Brunswick Arsenal for a couple of upcoming tourneys. I currently own a Nexus Pink and Blue and a Wild Thing. I am looking for something which corners a little stronger than my Nexus. Looking at numbers and ball reviews I have narrowed it down to a Hell Raiser Revenge ( Currently in stock in my shop ), C - System maxxed -out and Nexxus F(P+R). I also have a Too Reckless but it's currently being sold because it so squirty to throw on anything here. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would tell you to look at, as someone else said either an ulti max or a nexxxus. Triple x is the closest thing to a hybrid ball without calling it a hybrid. It will start earlier than the nexus pearl or the ulti max and has the cornering ability I think you are looking for.

Wait until Motiv brings out their silver/white skid-flippy ball early Feb..  You are giving up too fast Audric.  Take it to P4000 fight the carry down-move in and wheel it slightly.

As others have stated the Aura and the Nexxxus would be the best choices.  Both balls are both strong and handle some oil.  The Nexxxus is a little stronger change of direction downlane while the Aura is more of that continuous shape your looking for.  Modern "carrydown" can often times be the lane oil being absorbed by bowling balls going down the lane and not the strips of oil bowlers used to see in the past.  That being said even with more speed dominant players a ball that is cleaner down lane and responds faster to friction works better.  The unique thing about the Aura and Nexxxus pieces is that they are clean through the front part of the lane but pick up quicker at the breakpoint than bowling balls did in the past making them ideal choices for bowlers with higher ball speed to rev ratios.  I would tend to agree with Adam that based on the surface you bowl on and your situation I like the Nexxxus a little better than the Aura.  The Nexxxus also takes surface changes very well and with 500 on it can handle a bunch of oil if necessary.

Look, I am going to keep my Too reckless and make a surface change. Also after This weekend's tourney, I will make a ball choice . Thanks for the input.
