although this ball comes from the factory wetsanded 400 grit and is intended for oily lanes it can be smoothsanded to a finer grit and polished and used on medium conditions as well.

Great ball for evening out some of those wet/dry houseshots some bowlers fight with.

Took mine to 2000 abralon and polished it. Wonderful ball. I am considering taking it to 4000. If your buddy knew the potential of the Mammoth; he would keep it. Buy it dude.

Second that. Good oil ball choice, and with various potential uses.
With polish, the Activator coverstcok base gets well through the heads and the particles smooth out the breakpoint. With an open surface (400 grit OOB), this ball is supposed to handle ANY oil one might expect out there. If the Mammoth does not move at OOB, hardly anything will.

oil patterns at pba regional tournaments can be very slick sometimes. i used my mammoth many times in these tournaments. the cheetah pattern is only 35' in length but has the most oil by volume. i've used the mammoth as dull as 180 grit abralon to play on this pattern.
