Mastermind Einstein vs Thug Corrupt

Both of these balls are on the closeout rack at the local pro shop and I was wondering what the differences between the two are. It seems like they are both using the new coverstock technology Brunswick developed (Relativity Hybrid and Composite Hybrid) and their core numbers aren't significantly different. Same price for both so that's not a factor, just wondering if one handles heavier oil better than the other.

Really enjoyed both and honestly think you can pick your favorite color and go. They are very similar. Either can have the surface adjusted to be more aggressive. Both have similar box finishes as well.

Both are similar and you can easily adjust the surface as needed.  The advantage with the composite covers is that they may hold up better and maintain reaction longer over the long term.  The thread for those covers is here:  http://www.ballreviews.com/coverstock-preparation/composite-coverstocks-t309488.0.html

Right, if I bought either one of these balls I would more than likely have it drilled a pin-down layout and the surface brought down to 2000. It just seemed kind of odd that the Einstein and Corrupt appeared so similar on paper since they were both released at the same time.

I've read about the composite technology and have been trying to keep an eye on how it's holding up. Does anybody have a ball utilizing it and with a ton of games put on it over the course of the season? Heavier oil balls like these (and my recently purchased Mastermind Intellect) usually last longer for me anyways since they get far less use than the weaker equipment but any little bit of added longevity is always nice.

The Thug Corrupt has a slightly stronger motion downlane compared to the Mastermind Einstein. Both take well to surface changes, and shouldn't loose reaction as quickly as some of the other balls because of the composite coverstock technology. Either would be a good choice.

Both of these balls are still sitting on the clearance rack but now they're at an even better price. Would either of them fit underneath a pin down Absolute Nirvana and pin up Grudge Hybrid though? I'm thinking of finally going for the Einstein (or Corrupt, doesn't really matter) with a pin down layout. Not sure about going with polish or more surface. Don't want it to be too similar to the Hybrid, although I have a hard time imaging either of those two being as clean and strong off the spot. Not too worried about it being similar to the Absolute given how strong it is.

Any thoughts? Kind of digging deep for this but it's something that just keeps gnawing at me.

After seeing what you have and where you want it to fit,i also believe the Einstein is the better fit.

Yeah, that's my first choice. All I'm really worrying about and trying to avoid is too much overlap with the Grudge Hybrid and to a lesser extent the Absolute Nirvana. But at the same time those two balls are fairly different for me so maybe I'm overthinking it.

Mine was best between 2000 & 3000 for the conditions I usually see.

So I did end up getting the Einstein after a late debate about that or a Diva XOXO. Threw it twice this week. One league at a house with older, yet maintained wood lanes and synthetics at the other. Pin down with no hole. It's a lot cleaner and sharper than I expected, especially at that drilling. Took it down to 2500 before both sets with a Sandbagger and the gold(ish) Mirka pad too.

I like the motion though. Something different in my bag. Doesn't seem to quit coming off the spot even as I move fairly deep. Weaker than my Grudge Hybrid (also at 2500 but pin up with a P3 hole) which is good, and obviously a vastly different ball than the Absolute Nirvana (pin down also with a P3 hole and at 1500).

Man, I've really liked the last four Brunswick family balls I've gotten. Mastermind Intellect, Grudge Hybrid, Absolute Nirvana, and Mastermind Einstein. The Aura Paranormal before that was underwhelming and really solid at the same time. Shot a lot of high scores with it but never was impressed with it too much on heavy oil. Anyways, I think it's about time to get my hands on a Radical. Or the Diva XOXO I mentioned earlier...
