Longtime viewer of this site and had to rejoin with a new screen name. After being out of bowling for 4.5 years, I decided to get back into it a few weeks ago and joined 2 short season sanctioned leagues. I had an older Total Inferno in the bag for the first couple of weeks and decided it was time to drill a couple of new pieces.
The brawler was drilled 4.5x4x2. I am a higher rev/speed dominant player at appx 17.5 mph and about 400 rpm..
All i can say on the brawler is WOW. This ball was extremely versatile and was able to use it all 3 games moving in and out with ease. Regardless where i was at on the lane, it cleared the heads with ease and retained a ton of energy for the backend. The reaction/versatility reminded me of an Absolute Inferno on roids.
Being back for only 3 weeks and having 18 games in league play and a few extras practicing, this easily gave me my best set since i have been back at 695. I am looking forward to seeing what this can do for me in the upcoming weeks and out at some tournaments in the spring..

If you're only back 3 weeks, how did you get one since it won't be released til February?

WWRD for all 3 DV8 releases is next Wednesday... Not unusual for pro shops to get new releases a week or more before the WWRD.

The Brawler is a Brunswick ball, not a DV8 ball.
Buddies has the Brawler's WWRD as Feb. 6th. Still 3 weeks away. His shop could have gotten them earlier, but it's already drilled and he's making a mini-review of it. I was just curious.

Dang it... see what happens when I don't take my vitamins? Spending enough time mulling over the Ringer vs. the pearl Misfit that I've muddled the companies together.
I know the original Aura was given to shops that attended the seminar a few weeks in advance of the WWRD. They could drill the seed balls but were not allowed to sell them to the public.

The pro shop i had frequented for years, gets a lot of Bruns equipment ahead of the WWRD. My driller thought it would be a good piece in my hands..Let me have his demo piece.

I guesss I am behind times, but what is WWRD?

World wide release date. Meaning when the ball is available to purchase

YES! I am very impressed so far with my Brawler, too. But I still have time to make it look bad ;).

According to Feb. BTM. Ringer smooth even, Pearl Misfit very flippy.
Pearl yellow Misfit seems to use higher RG and smaller differential than other (solid) Misfits to get more length and snap.
Oh, one more difference: Ringer great looking, Misfit UGLEEEE!

Yeah, about that misfit. Saw the video on youtube yesterday, and now I MUST have one for my own.
I knew it was pearl, and I knew it was yellow, but I just didn't realize that it was going to be bright fluorescent, glow in the dark, horrendously prostitutish, do it to me hard, YELLOW.
Add in the fact that our condition calls for me to use milder, lower flaring equipment, and I thin I now have an insultingly ugly WINNER.

It's as loud and obnoxious as yellow can get. You can always look for DV8 balls to be that way. Brunswick balls will always have a classy look.

After drilling hundreds of balls in my career I must agree that it seems the "favorites" always have seemed to be dark solid colour balls for me. They are easy to read watching the ball downlane. My thoughts have changed now with the DV8's tho. I will say the Yellow/Magenta is bright and gets attention but I refuse to go anywhere without that ball. Its the most predictable reaction I've had in a very long time. If my wife would let me that ball would be joining us in bed! :-)

It is absolutely phenomenal. Its exactly what they said. Fits right between the meanstreak and the maxxed out. Gives me the most midlane control of all. It doesnt push too far like the meanstreak tends to when it sees some carry down and doesnt jerk uncontrollably when the maxxed out is too much. Perfect benchmark ball. Already have an 838 series with it!

Excellent. Someone who knows a good ball when they use it.
Congrats on the 838!!
