Eww...pattern D! Tough nuggets. I would definately do with a negative drill(5 to 5 1/2 pin over your middle finger) with a stronger Mass Bias on the Impulse Zone(add polish). That should give you more area down the lane as the break down with a consistant read through the heads and midlane. With one of those Absolutes(or Regular Inferno), I love the look of the layout(I forget exactly which one it is on the new Brunswick sheet), that puts the Pin 1-1.5 inches over the middle finger, with the c.g kicked about 2 inches from the grip center and the flare-reducing weighthole inside of your VAL. This will give you the needed angle to get inside and carry, but the flare reducing hole should lay off the tendency for the Infernos to want to start checking up so early in the midlanes.
I've seen alot of staffers shy away from the use of the Power Grooves and Punishers for more than a Gap or Niche ball, but I think they work very well with a 4 inch pin to PAP placement(C.G. out near PAP), Weighthole deep into the PAP, for a more hook/set reaction. Works great in fierce backends, and drying tracks. It will also give you the option of playing up the out of bounds if you take the surface down to about 1000 or 1500. I say choose the Power-Grooves or Punisher only because they will push better through the heads and midlanes than something as early revving as the Inferno Series or Classic Zone or Nemesis.
Good luck out at the PTQ.
