Melee Jab vs red Melee vs Melee Cross
« on: December 09, 2014, 11:10:42 PM »
Ok, here it goes:

I still love my red melee, well be punching up used Cross soon, which I know will be stronger.

Where will the jab line up? Will it be as strong as the original, with a sharper back end? What core does the jab have- the core from the cross or original?

Then the next debate is-how should it compare to the yeti uncaged for back end reaction? I was not a big liker of the original yeti, but it could be the drill on it also.

The Melee Cross will be stronger overall compared to the original Melee. The Melee Cross starts up earlier compared to the red Melee because of the lower RG core and stronger cover. The Melee Cross is a great ball for medium to heavier oil and will have more continuation compared to the original Melee.

The Melee Jab would be good for when the lanes break down and you need something that will get further down the lane. The Melee Jab has the same core as the Melee Cross, but with a new pearl cover it will have more snap. I would suggest drilling the Jab pin up to give you the extra length for when the lanes start to break down.

In order of strongest overall would be Melee Cross, Melee, Melee Jab.

Comparing the Yeti Uncaged to the Melee Jab, both would have a similar motion on the lanes with a skid/snap type of reaction. Both would be good for when the lanes start to break down and you need something that will get through the heads.

Here is a video that I made which shows the motion of the Melee Jab and Fortera Intrigue, and I threw a couple of shots with the Melee Cross to show the difference:
