Brunswick's new facility is state of the art. Bowling is about 10% of Brunswick's business, so in order to remain competitive and not have to pay someone between $25 and $40 per hour to make bowling balls in an outdated facility, they built a new plant.
Sorry if it's in Mexico, where they could control their manufacturing costs. If you've got a problem with this, then take off your shoes, pants, shirt, etc., because they were all probably assembled in Mexico or another country. Wake up. The economy is a GLOBAL economy, not just a U.S. economy.
No one is forcing you to buy Brunswick. Those of us who like their product will attest to the quality coming out of the new plant. Of all the balls being returned to the manufacturers (by the distributor that we use) for cracking and other problems very, very, few are coming from Brunswick's or Ebonite's plants.
Every ball company has balls with varying pins. The 1" pins are usually very cheap because they're considered "blems." The same is true with extremely long pin placements. Strange pins give the driller fewer options. I won't tell anyone to not buy from the internet sites, just realize that if the price seems extremely low, you may be limited on choices.
