Did we ever decide whether this ball was a Rhino Pro Gold or an LT-48 gold?

Gold Rhino Pro...

Almost zero flare, mild reactive cover.

For some reason, some flared, some didn't.

The NIB Rhino Gold I got 2 years ago flared and was hard to control. The ones I shot 300/800 with didn't flare and were very stable.

Is this a case of different drillings, or some people not using it on the right oil patterns and some do,
OR is there something irregular going on with some other aspect/factor?
I think most of us reading all the above remain confused.

The Gold RHinos I had seen were mildish resin pearls with a small amount of flare. The balls were excellent on medium-light oil patterns, depending on drill and the bowler's hand.

Joe,

Any idea if your Gold Rhino is one of the original runs or a re-issue?
If a re-issue, the newer coverstock could be enough of a different formulation that it is now "stronger". (Just a stab in the dark, as from your description, I wonder if it isn't the cover that is so muchstronger.)
