I've been told that you guys over there think the Pin placement is much more important than the CG.I'm gettin an AI and want the pin below the ring finger for earlier roll, and was wondering where to put the CG for a stronger finish or does this have a great bearing on the reaction & I think i will need a weight hole. Can anyone put a drilling up so i can get some ideas. Thanks guys.

The cg doesn't really make a difference. It's really only whether you want a weighthole or not. Label will react the same as 4x2 if you don't add a weighthole.

in a modern bowling ball the position of the pin is far more important than the position of the cg.

As RicH has said on here, brunswick has preformed studys on this and they all react the same. Based on Pin to PAP placement, closer = more flare/bigger hook, further away = less flare/less hook. And the use of a weight hold to increase/decrease track flare or placed on the PAP to smooth the reaction out.
From my noob experience, and what i have been reading on "mario's secrets" putting the CG at 45 or 75 degress will profide a snappy reaction, providing the "finish" you are looking for i think.
http://www.bowling-info.com/index.php?template=315%20degrees check that out, thats what i have been looking at lately.
Thats the way i understand it from BrunsRicH.

Well I'd stack it, but since it's a brunswick ball they'll just tell you to throw it in the grip center and leave it.
Throw it in the grip center and leave it.
If you go by the Brunswick drill sheet, you'll do just fine.

I been told the Pin indicates the reaction thru the fronts, and the CG/MB determines the reaction on the backend. I think this is true.

Thanks guys for all that info. I've learnt more in the last 6 mths on this site about balls and what they do with different drillings than i knew over the last 43 yrs. Am i sad or what...lol

Remember this also, if you have the chance to throw the ball before adding the extra hole, do so. See how it reacts, legal or not (non-competition), then determine what you would like to see the ball do. If you would like more reaction in the midlane and backends, as it sounds like you do, place the hole approx. 5-6" right of your grip and 1-2" down. This would create a stronger flaring reaction, thus making the ball stronger in the right place on the lane. If by chance you need the ball to arc more downlane, place the hole 4-5" right and 1-1 1/2" up. This will reduce the flare and give the ball a smoother look.

I thought the companies claim that the CG position doesn't matter anymore since static weights doesn't effect the ball motion as much as the PIN and MASS BIAS.

I'll be getting my AI in the next couple of weeks, think i'll go for the pin below the ring finger for early roll and a weigh hole a little lower and out to the right for more flare. Maybe put the CG bout 1/2 to the right of middle. Ive taken into account all your post on this and you've all been a great help......now all i have to do is get my 1st 300& 800 to prove you all right...lol
