Getting a brunswick equipment soon, cause I won some vouchers. Now wondering which ball should I get?
Got some recommendation which is Scorchin' Inferno, Strike Zone, Might Zone 2(Int'l series) and also Mega Zone 2.
now interested in knowing if scorchin' is suitable for carrydown conditions on med - heavy ?
thanks.

Get a Hyper Zone-S if you can.
exact copy of the legendary original inferno.

The Strike Zone would be more angular on carrydown conditions with about the same hook potential as the Scorchin. The Scorchin is slower to get into a roll, but also offers more control. The Strike Zone is not over/under, it just tends to get jumpy. I'd pick between those two. I liked both, and they both offered a different look on the lanes. If you have higher revs, go with the Scorchin, if you need a little help, go with the SZ.

I've thought of Hyper Zone-S.
but because of my speed that's more than my revs, people recommend me to get a dull ball and alter the surface.

nah, just drill it with the pin closer to your midline, you'll be fine.
NOW GO GET IT!
you wont regret it.

i wouldn't recommend the scorchin' inferno. there have been alot of problems with them and prepping the coverstock to something that is good for a bowler. i had mine for eh, maybe 3 weeks, and tried all sorts of things to do something, but it couldn't.

I throw it all, just give me a ball, I'll throw it. =]

What are the problems you've faced?

AHAHAHHAHA, HAHAHAHAHA, wow thats great Machine. 3 Weeks and you know it wasn't just a drilling that didn't match up with you, and that the cover stock has problems. Wow, ask brunsnick, the Activator Max is a great cover, when dull or when shined. Believe me, even though I don't own one its the most popular ball at my center for a reason. Its great Coverstock that handles adjustments great, almost, its pretty close but almost everyone is polished at my center and you won't hear one bad thing about it.

thanks mike.
I ain't really worried about problems, but is the ball itself. Like what HamPster said eariler, Scorchin' might take sometime before rollin' up, might be due to the medium RG, while SZ have a lower RG which might serve me as a advantage.
I've already found a Scorchin' with the weight I want, might be talking to my coach before getting the ball drilled. =)

I have a bad layout scorchin. Burns up no matter what I do. Plus its rolling over the middle finger hole. I was told to move the pin higher up and rotate the CG closer to the palm that both problems would be cured. Drill touchy, sure but when its drilled right its a killer of a ball. Mine isnt drilled right but I still like it!

Haa, that means this ball is a drill-sensitive ball?

Now offered these few balls at the same price, still wondering which to get.

Scorchin' Inferno
Mega Zone 2
Mighty Zone 2
Strike Zone
what I need from the ball is a continous move into the pocket, mainly for carrydown or fresh longer patterns.
-
Personally, from what I know, I'd go with the Mega Zone 2. It has a symmetrical core (from the old Raging Red Fuze - gives a nice, heavy roll)which is IMHO more versatile than an asymmetrical when set up, and less prone to condition changes. And PK24 is more aggressive than Activator. It might be close to the Scorchin' Inferno, but it has more differential which might be helpful with your speed and lower revs. If the ball is OOB too much (I hardly believe), you still can tweak the surface one the ball and try higher grits or even a polish.

Thanks!
Mighty Zone 2 is also a PK24 cover, but with a inferno series core, not sure which inferno is it.

I need to know which of these balls have a lower RG, can't figure out from brunswick website though.
-
The Mighty Zone has the lower RG.

1 question that really runs in my mind for long..
how do I see the RG for a ball for brunswick website? they only state Max and Min.
haa.
Anyway, I manage to sort out things and now I'm left with the choice of Mega Zone 2 and Mighty Zone 2. =)
But 1 thing tt stop me from getting the Mega Zone 2 is because it resembles my Hawg a lot. haa.

You can find the RG rating in the left side of the single ball descriptions, the green panel. Check out http://www.brunswickbowling.com/mega_Zone_H on their US website:
MEGA Zone H (Raging Red Fuze core)
RG Max: 2.555â€
RG Min: 2.499â€
RG Diff: 0.056â€
RG Avg: 3.7 out of 10
HYPER Zone H (Inferno core)
RG Max: 2.513â€
RG Min: 2.463â€
RG Diff: 0.050â€
RG Avg: 2.6 out of 10
You simply get the RG average when you add Min and Max and divide it by 2, or use the RG min and add half of the differential (that's where the RG diff. stems from).
The strange RG rating/conversion by Brunswick is only a rough guideline when comparing Brunswick balls. I never was able to get the further sense of it?

Cool. Thanks guys, my friend just reserved a Scorchin' for me, haa. Reserved before hand because it's the last 15lbs I can find. Guess i've to go with scorchin, my 1st brunswick and 1st inferno series. =)

Roughly the price of any scorchin' you can find online.
