Wild Ride?
« on: December 30, 2008, 10:36:01 PM »
I just got my January edition of Bowling This Month, and on the back was an advery for a new Brunswick ball, the Wild Ride:

Dangerous TURNS Ahead. Revolutionary Technology. Amazing Control. Unbelievable Reaction. The result of over 18 months of research and development, the new ConneXion coverstock assures this revolutionary new ball grips the lanes to form the sharpest skid-snap backend reaction ever produced by a Brunswick ball. Versatile and forgiving, the Wild Ride provides a level of control previously unavailable with this level of angularity. Connect with the lanes like a caster rides the rails, and hold on tight for an unbeleivably Wild Ride!

Sounds interesting, anyone got any more information?

It will be interesting to see how this will differ from the Zone Classic as that ball was pretty angular itself.  Can't wait.

I don't throw much Brunswick, but I am very intrigued by this ball.

I just know that it is placed in the High Preformance line, and that the first test balls arrived in Germany (even though no feedback about it yet). Looks a bit like a Vapor Zone remake. Wonder if it replaces the TFP?

Some data from the German import company:

It does not replace the TWP, it is a much stronger coverstock. It will read oil much better than the Zone Classic. This ball continued through the backends when a few others I compared it too struggled as the oil carried down.
It appears to roll to the breakpoint without ever hooking early and comes off the spot sharply. It does remind me of a Vapor Zone going down the lane, but sharper off friction.

well i was unfortunate to bowl against Brunsnick on tuesday night, which he had both balls, the wild ride and rattler drilled up. the rattler could be the best damn lookin ball ive seen in a long time, and the wild ride has a pretty amazing roll to as rob law stated. both will be very tempting to punch up, however im sure brunsnick will have something up soon about both.

How does it differ from the destruction, and we haven't seen a video on that yet.

If it reminds Vapor Zone, it should be significantly stronger & earlier than Destruction. A true step up with the similar characteristics probably..

And if you are referring to Destruction video, it's been on the Brunswick web site for sometime.

The ball will not be released until Jan 19th, so he's got a little time.

I have enjoyed this post on the TWP, TFP, and the FP but I didn't here any reference to the FS, OI, or DZ.

Are there more acronyms available?
