Mystery ball
« on: January 19, 2007, 09:44:38 AM »
I have a ball that no one seems to know what it is. Zone Pro Burgundy Proactive Ball.  Bought it in 1999, but the proshop forgot to give me the drilling/ball info sheet after they punched it.  I LOVE THIS BALL!!!  Got my first 300 and 700 with this ball.  Now, I'm looking for something comparable, but no love so far.  I have tried EboNOT (Matrix II and Vicious Attack) but they were both one trick ponies.  The zone would work for me on any lane condition.  Only place I have ever found on internet that mentions this ball is the PBA.com on their approved equipment list (its 9th up from bottom) saying it was approved 2/9/1999.  if it helps, the serial number is AMU5741.  Would love to know if someone has a copy of the drilling/ball info sheet that I could get!?!?

All on ebay that I have found are used and dont want a used one (I have one of those)  I had ball rejuvenated (sp?), but it is not what it should be.

The drilling sheet probably won't be any different than what you would get with an Ambush, Rampage or any other symmetrical core ball as Brunswick tends to use the same drill sheet with their 10 reccomended layouts..not sure what weight you are after but there is a NIB one on ebay right now.   Item Number 280071716006

The one on ebay is a deep violet not a burgundy.  Did brunswick make special balls for pba.  Bought the ball at a pro-am event, so I wonder about that.  Think I will try the Ambush and probably the Fury as well.  Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know what happens.

Deep violet is the correct color description and you should be able to find some on eBay. I have purchased two in the last 3 weeks (15#) so I know they are available.

I liked mine. Picked it up in a ball league. Used and abused though.
