I heard that the Dry/R can be very strong, too, some people around here said it was even too strong to cope with short THS pattern with 7 dry outside boards. As far as I remember Brunswick recommends not to drill it too strong, since it might over-react (too strong move).
From the Slay/R I have ambiguous comments. Some love it due to its weak coverstock, others curse it since it can be very poppy in the backend when it hits dry boards or when you are not accurate with speed. Risky, I think.
You might also opt for a simple Urethane ball? It's not really fashionable, but will work fine. Brunswick has a Urethane Groove, and another ball with good performance on light to dry conditions is the (retired) Pure Hammer. It is Urethane with a hammer core. I have seen people having much success with it when the lane dries up. Hooking, yes, but smooth.
Another recommendation I got was the (also retired) Red Pearl Urethane Hammer. I got myself recently one for dry occasions, it is currently at the pro shop for plugging and new drill.
