Need companion for Absolute
« on: October 29, 2007, 06:24:47 AM »
I need a ball from the current line to go to when my Absolute won't finish in the backend due to carrydown or heavy oil.

I'm not looking for something very much stronger.  Something similiar in strength but with more bite is what I had in mind.

Total Inferno.
Same type of reaction, just stronger.

Red Zone with a rough buff finish?  Solid reactive, compound finish, should bite through carrydown a little better than a pearl.  Or the new Sidewinder.

I'd say an original Inferno if you could find one. It does exactly what you describe when comparing my Absolute and OI.

Particles will dig thru oil better, so i'd suggest a particle. My suggestion is either a dull Sidewinder or a polished/high-grit Mammoth, both from the BVP line.

Your choice, but if you're struggling with heavy oil, get a Mammoth, since the Mammoth can then easily be brought down again and will be a good ball for the really heavy stuff if you encounter any.

I have both Absolute and Ultimate Infernos, Am I missing anything by not getting Vapor Zone and Stike Zone.
How true is that Total Inferno will finish stronger than the Absolute?
Anything better than the Ultimate on oil? If there is, which ones?

The Vapor Zone is essentially the same ball as the Absolute Inferno, except its asymmetric.  I use it over the AI because it gave a few more drilling options and I have a preference for asymmetric bowling balls.  The VZ can be drilled in such a way it reacts just like an AI.  They share the Activator+ coverstock.

So it comes down to your preference, symmetric VS asymmetric.

I have the Ultimate for heavier oil and the Rampage for drier conditions.  Don't think you could go wrong with them.

I would say a Total Infoerno will handle more oil and carry down than the Absolute. They compliment each other very nicely.
