Big B on Viper and Cheetah
« on: June 27, 2012, 11:24:46 PM »
Ive got one more week left on the Viper pattern and 4 weeks of Cheetah to come. right now all I have is a Wicked Siege and a Alpha Max. Both are way too strong for the Viper and I assume that they both will be too strong for the Cheetah. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

My stats are as follows. I throw 14lbs, I'm RH, avg ball speed 16mph with 375 rpm

I like symmetrical bowling balls for both patterns.  Depending on whats available to you: Versa max, Massive Damage or 2 Reckless then shelling down to a Karma solid or Misfit.

Pin down layouts and adjust covers to control the backend.

I would agree with RC Charger by getting a symmetrical core ball for cheetah.  With your speed and rev rate, I would suggest a too reckless or a versa-max with a 3" pin to pap to keep the flare low. I would also suggest to take the surface to 4000 so it doesn't go sideways when reaching the friction.  If you want to go a with a little weaker ball, then I would suggest any of the slingshots or any of the Misfit balls with a 3" pin to pap drilling as well as removing the polish.  Good luck with cheetah.

On Cheetah, when the lanes break down, don't be afraid to go to your benchmark, or strongest ball and attack it like a house shot. It's very similar if you break them down correctly.

I am in love with a 2" pin misfit playing straighter and the blue karma solid is even smoother off the spot so that is a definite winner.
I had a lot of success with slingshots drilled strong around 2000 on Viper in the past as I could stay further right longer without having to back my hand out.  Moral of the story, don't be shy to give some weaker balls a try

Havent tried it on the Cheetah, but the Versa Max is a great ball that I really like on short hooking patterns.
