I adore my Monster Bruiser but I'm afraid....
« on: February 07, 2007, 02:27:23 AM »
...that when I wear it out I won't find another ball to replace it that I like as much.  It's one of the nicest, most predictible balls I've ever thrown.

What is Brunswick's replacement for the MB?

Wizard with polish, but I think that with the higher RG core, it'll be slightly longer and more angular.  Very similar, though.

I agree. But if you don't polish it, then about 1500 wet sand works very well on this ball. This is a very nice ball.

I would check around for a NIB one...they are out there and not that hard to find depending on the weight that you throw.

Nope, it's just not the same. I have a 15 lb and 16 lb Bruiser and a 16 Nemesis (AKA Wizard). That core in the BVP makes it TOTALLY different fromt he Bruiser. It's a flippier core shape, no matter the numbers. The Bruiser's Quantum mushroom shaped core is a lot more  stable and even reacting.

charlest,

Remember, the question was which Brunswick replaced the Bruiser? Not which Brunswick ball is identical to the Bruiser. Since the quantum core is not currently in any Brunswick ball, what would you suggest?

I have a bid on one at eBay (15lb) right now.  Found it after posting here.  I'm gonna scarf up anything I can find.

www.bowlingballmall.com website indicates they have some 16lb Bruisers.

Actually, fbila35 has a NIB 16 in his list in the Wanted/For Sale/Trades forum.

And I could probably be talked out of my NIB 16 as well, given the right price.

Right now, Probably the Dyno-Thane NE10 or the AMF Radar; slightly weaker, the Ebonite Whirlwind. but a similar overall ball reaction.
No Brunswick ball even comes close to what the Bruiser is/was.
