Nemesis question
« on: February 18, 2006, 04:02:17 AM »
Can any of you guys help me with this? I got my buddy to buy a Nemesis in October when our lanes were still being oiled a little heavier. He came up to me after league on Wednesday night and said "Thanks for getting me to buy that Nemesis, it's already dead." Has there been any issues with them dying fast? He just had it sanded for the state tournament and I told him the problem wasn't cover death it was rollout. Our lanes are now being oiled with a lighter, flat pattern and I think that is what happened to him. Any input on Nemesis PowrKoil 18 death?

what kind of ball speed and rotation does your buddy have ? if he has slower ball speed and/or little side turn his ball may be using up it's energy. run the ball thru the rejuvenator and sand it to a finer grit. you may also need to polish it.

i sanded mine with 320 wet sand and then polished it with 3m perfect it twice by hand.and i love mine.just throwed 289 with it.goes a little longer but it has more backend than when 800 sanded factory finish.the lane conditions i throw it on is synthetic lanes oiled to 32 feet buffed to 38 feet 50 to 60 units in the middle 8 to 8 3 1/2 to 5 units 8 to gutter.

I baught mine for the very same reason needed a ball for oilier conditions.  I  agree with you guys that his is rolling out.  Sand it up to 1000 grit or higher if you can then get it polished.

Guys, he does throw about 14.5 - 15 MPH and our lanes are Guardian overlay with the flatter light pattern. I firmly believe he is suffering from roll out. He doesn't use the Nemesis every night he bowls and he keeps it clean. A lot of guys complain about no hook on the back ends at our lanes and for the most part it's roll out not carry down. I just wanted to know if PK18 had any issues. I had never heard that before and was skeptical when he said it had died. I told him to bowl on the oil he'd face at state this weekend and see if it still doesn't hook. If it does hook, I told him to let me shine it for league and he'd be happy again.

if your buddies ball speed is 14.5 to 15 mph and he's bowling on guardian with little oil then his ball probably is burning too much energy. wetsand the ball to a finer grit( 1,000 grit or so ) and then polish it.
