AI vs. SI :)
« on: October 16, 2005, 01:48:10 AM »
Read many threads on this forum about this 2 balls, and I realize that..

AI and SI will have the same amount of backends if both drilled the same, only that SI will have more length and AI have a earlier roll.

AI will be able to handle almost the same amount of oil as SI(maybe a little more for AI?) but SI will skid a little long if the oil pattern is long?

AI will also be able to handle carrydown while SI might hit light pockets?

Last but not least, AI is more of a strong arc, while SI is a true skid/flip ball! =)

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Absolutely NOT true, AS FAR AS I KNOW.

The AI is for medium to medium-heavy oil, depending on drilling, hand and ball speed, while the SI is for meium-light to medium oil, depending on the same factors, WITH the out of box surface for both balls.

The SI is for when the AI starts burning up early or you can't stand deep enough and still get it to turn the corner.

Sometimes, many times, the "house shot" can fool you, makin 2 different blls look very similar. This oil pattern can, IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO, MAKE these different balls seem usable on the same oil pattern, when that situation is just a random possibility. Do not depend on it!

The SI and the AI seem, to my eyes, to b very complementary balls; that is, you can go from one to the other as conditions change. They are premium price and premium reaction balls, with great hitting power.

I think it was Hamlin who said that if drilled the same, on a line when the AI comes in flush the SI will be a few feet longer and come in light but still have enough to carry.  Seems accurate from what I know.
