I can't wait to get the Siege and Wild Thing! These balls look like they'll be winners. The core in both look sick!

For the Seige, how does 1000 micro pad finish differ from 1000 grit abralon?

It doesn't, Brunswick prefers the Micro Finish term instead of Abralon pads...pasted from the Wild Thing

Micro Finishing Pads
The bowling industry is starting to embrace the surface finishes created by 2000-grit and 4000-grit abrasives. These abrasives create a glossy finish that many bowlers would assume are polished with a wax or similar compound. The benefit to the bowler is that these finishes create length similar to balls coated with compound finishes, but are better able to handle carrydown. The Wild Thing is finished with 4000-grit Abrasive pads driven by the new Haus high-speed bowling ball resurfacing machine.

Reaction Characteristics
•Out of the Box: With its 4000-grit micro pad finish, the Wild Thing will provide excellent length and a strong back-end reaction to match up on medium to oily lane conditions for a wide range of bowling styles.

Essentially they just call it something else, same effect though.

Might also have legal reasons, but technically, I would not expect anything exotic or different.

Other companies use the Abralon name, I don't see why Brunswick wouldn't..unless they're making their own Abralon pads and terming them something different to sell, But I haven't seen/heard anything about something like that to date.. /shrug

As far as the new releases go..I need to get balls for free, lol - They all look great, and I can see holes in the lineup got filled.

Actually is what posted in another thread that the Micro Finishing Pads are slightly different from Abralon pads and Brunswick will be making them available later this summer.  I cannot remember the post but do fully remember this being stated.

The Wild Thing reminds me of a Wrath Hi-Flush with just a touch more red. =D

Looking at that Wild Thing, it reminds me of the color theme of the Red Zone.

That post was from me. The Micro Pads ARE different from abralon. The finish will be similar at first, but after a few uses the abralon pads start to change (wear out) dramatically. These new "Micro Pads" pads are more durable according to the testing that Brunswick has done so far.

All I know is that they should become available in the near future.
