New Brunswick Equipment
« on: August 05, 2011, 08:10:06 AM »
I got a chance to throw my new C(System) alpha-max and C(System) ulti-max today. The manager at the house where I will be bowling my Friday night men's league this year cleaned and oiled a pair of lanes for me. This house has three year old Brunswick ProLanes and uses the Kegel Kustodian Ion machine to apply Kegel oil for a 40' blended pattern.

I used the C(System) ulti-max the most as I plan on this being the first ball out of my bag for the upcoming year. Compared to my Wicked Siege( which is plenty strong ) the ulti-max forced me to stand 5-6 boards farther left on the approach with the same breakpoint down the lane. This ball impressed me with it's ease of length and it's HUGE backend movement. This ball is basically drilled 4 1/2 X 4 1/2 with an x-hole 1" down from my PAP. The tested ball surface was 1,000 Siaair pad and polished. This ball has perhaps the most angular move of any Brunswick ball I've thrown.

I tried the C(System) alpha-max a little. This ball is drilled the same as the ulti-max but I left it in box condition( 500, 800, 4,000 Siaair pad ). The added friction from this ball and it's surface made me stand even farther left yet still targeting the same breakpoint area. The balls movement was very much an arcing motion compared to the ulti-max but this ball should work great on oilier lanes.

Obviously, much more testing is needed on both of these balls but I am impressed with what I saw today. I'm looking forward to trying these balls out again Monday. I'm also looking forward to the $100 in rebates I'll be getting back.
