I finally got my Aura drilled up today. I wanted the ball to roll early and be strong on the backend. BrunsNick suggested a 50x4x30 layout so that's what I did. I resurfaced this ball to 500/2000 abralon when I bought it.
I'm not a Brunswick staffer, and I don't want to be one of those reviewers who claims a ball is better than anything ever made, but I will say in the three games I threw with it that this ball is more continuous on the backend than any Brunswick ball I have ever thrown.
I had carved a nice wall of dry on a fresh, thick THS with my Versa-Max and Meanstreak for about 5-6 games before the pro shop was done with the Aura. First three shots were strikes and I knew I had a winner.
I watched the ball pick up steam as it went through the mids and then when it hit the friction it didn't jump, it just changed direction and steamrolled it's way through the pin-deck.
I basically had the entire right side of the lane to play with this ball. There was nowhere that was off limits. Now that's the beauty of the house shot, but I don't have any equipment that can read the lanes that way.
I've owned Brunswick equipment old and new: Danger Zone, Gold Rhino Pro, Teal Rhino Pro, Raven Quantum, Fire Quantum, Forest Green Quantum, Massive Damage, Damage, Versa-Max, and Meanstreak. The Aura looks NOTHING like any of these.
For those of you used to the gentle arc of Big B, think again with this one. I cannot wait to try it out more!
