New Comparison Vids! Brawler/Diva and Ringer/Misfit Pearl
« on: April 10, 2013, 10:41:48 AM »
Here at Ball Reviews Canada we strive to bring you the best bowling ball reaction videos on the market. While its easiest to show the strengths and differences between balls on a fresh house shot, this kind of reaction is only a reality for most league players for maybe one game. While all of our main ball reviews are done on a fresh house shot, we will be bringing you head to head ball reaction comparison videos on a shot type that the balls are designed for.  How do the balls roll when the heads go?  How well do they cut through carrydown?  And what balls roll the best on the "9pm second shift leftover" shot?  Heres the answer to those questions with our new videos for the week.

Meanstreak Brawler vs Diva:  http://www.ballreviewscanada.com/videos/dv8-diva-vs-brunswick-meanstreak-brawler-reaction-video-review/

Ringer vs Misfit Pearl:  http://www.ballreviewscanada.com/videos/dv8-misfit-pearl-vs-brunswick-ringer-reaction-comparison-video-review/

Enjoy! And as always comments are welcome!

We are taking requests now as well.  The topic is listed in the DV8 forum but here is the link to our inventory if there is a reaction you would like to see.

Jason,

Once again you continue to set the bar high for video ball reviews.  Thanks!

These videos upset all of my assumptions about these balls, so I really appreciate them.

First, I own a Ringer and it is a strong ball.  I assumed the Misfit Pearl was a step down and you proved me wrong. Second, I assumed the Diva was stronger than the Meanstreak Brawler, and again I was wrong.  I have the OG Meanstreak and love it.

As for requests, I would love to see the Reax vs. the OG Aura.

Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!

Jason,

Again excellent videos for comparison purposes which is what videos are all about.

Doug,

Be careful about saying which is stronger when. Remember he scuffed the Diva with a 4000 pad, which, I believe, made its surface equivalent to the Brawler's Rough Buff Surface. If he left the Diva stock, he would have stood deeper and possibly it might not have finished as strong due to (his own words  extreme carrydown!! I'd suggest if he didn't have extreme carrydown AND had left the surface stock, the Diva might have appeared to have more backend than the Brawler. So it, in many people's eyes would have appeared to be the stronger ball.

Keep in mind the Brawler is a solid/pearl combo, a hybrid and is ususally slightly smoother than the stock Diva. I personally don't believe it is a weaker ball, just different.

Charlest hit it right on the head with the surfaces.  The Diva out of the box is very shiny and will definitely go longer than the Brawler.  The particular Diva in the video is my number one ball and used as my benchmark.  The 4000 surface works amazing on it and also brought it as close as possible to the Brawler for comparison purposes.
Thanks for the comments guys!

Thanks Jeff and Jason.  USBC told us "surface rules," and I was so excited about these videos I missed that key fact about that Diva's surface.

Thanks Jeff. Another awesome video! You convinced me I don't need a Reax as my Aura is strong enough for the heaviest conditions I ever see - and it's versatile to boot!

Man thanks alot for these videos. I quit bowling several years ago ( probably around 2005) and have started slowly trying to work my way back into things. So many different brands out there now and its nice to see some comparisons.

I'm looking to get a ball thats not a complete dry lane ball, but not something thats more on the heavy end of the medium scale. The Misfit and Ringer were both balls I was considering, and being I have never thrown a Brunswick product ( don't ask me how) I wasn't sure on the shape difference between the two. I think I'm gonna pick up a Ringer the next time I'm at my local Pro Shop, I really like the shape of the ball and how it reads from the video.
