New Inferno out there? Pro Edition or what?
« on: November 15, 2004, 06:39:29 AM »
I was bowling a collegiate tournament this past weekend and I noticed a bowler, who I am sure frequents ballreviews using an Inferno I've never seen before.  I didn't notice that it was an Inferno until the last block of bakers, but it slipped my mind to ask him what ball it was.  It was Red and Black, polished, and looked like a polished Nemesis except it had an original Inferno logo, and an Activator Coverstock logo, and it was noticably a solid and NOT a pearl.  It got great length and a strong even backend.  I could have sworn it was a nemesis the entire day but for sure it came back out of the ball return, Inferno and Activator Coverstock logos on it and everything.

Is this a limited edition ball or a pro am ball or something?

That is NOT the ball.  I've seen that thread.  I said it only had Inferno and Activator Coverstock logos on it.  No PBA Tour Logo, no WHITE pin.  It has a Yellow pin and the color was just like the Nemesis, but different logos.  It was a Solid not a Pearl.

Evan, if you're out there and you're reading this, maybe you can clear up what ball you were using.

The only dark solid Inferno with a Yellow pin would be the Ultimate Inferno. Maybe the one you saw was very dark blue and red?

I'm telling you people it's Black and Red.  Geez, i'm not crazy, at least I don't think.  If it was an Ultimate, why wouldn't it have the Ultimate logos?  if it was a Nemesis, why the yellow pin instead of the White pin.  BrunsRich, can you provide some clarification here?

Bruns, even if it was an Ultimate...that is not explaining why the logo was the original Inferno logo and not the Ultimate Inferno logo.  They are different.  I think you guys mis-stamped one coming out of the factory, either that or a misstamped Nemesis with a yellow pin.

Looking at it, it rolls pretty much like Powerkoil18 and no activator I've seen.  Like I said, it's alot longer than the Inferno and Ultimate, but smoother than the Intense in transition.  Looked like a control ball with length.  I'll pass the word onto the owner and see what he wants to do with it.
