Next ball
« on: November 05, 2020, 07:16:21 AM »
I am contemplating on a second ball for my arsenal.

Currently I have the Hammer Redemption Solid but I am looking at a medium to heavy oil ball now as my house conditions always have a lot of oil.

I am trying to decide between the hammer fugitive solid drilling it pin down or the MOTIV forge flare drilling that pin down to go a little earlier to the pocket. I am more of a tweener maybe more of a striker type player. I also can’t decide if I should get something with dynamicore in medium to heavy oil if dynamicore is really worth it?

in general pin down for shorter length patterns and pin up for longer length patterns. a pin down layout offers a slower response to friction with a sweeping hook motion and a pin up offers a more length flip motion. on a longer pattern(less friction) you wont have  enough friction side to side to make the pin down layout work well. pin up works because of the faster response to friction and you will be playing a straighter line to the pocket with a flip at the end.

and to my real world experience the only balls I think that might hit slightly harder are the two piece balls but everything else has to work out for you before you would ever notice and only a very slight advantage at that.

I would try your pin up ball with more friction.

Does your Redemption Solid roll too early?  In what way would you like your next ball to compliment the Redemption?  Hook later?  Sharper move at the breakpoint?
