Next obvious step?
« on: September 15, 2005, 01:12:59 PM »
I have built up a small arsenal of Brunswick stuff. I have the following Inferno's; Intense, Blazing, Original Inferno, and the Ultimate Inferno. These balls, with their current drillings, cover a pretty good range of conditions.  My Ultimate is drilled to roll very early, and seems to work all right on the heaviest oil I usually run into and my Blazing seems to work well on all but the driest of conditions. I started out the first night of league and threw the Intense for a good set of 706, but I would like to see a little more angular break point. For all the things said about it, my Intense while a good ball is not nearly as angular as I thought it would be. Do I stay with the Inferno line and throw a Smoking, or do I try something else? If I were to add another Brunswick ball, what might a good choice be

Thanks,

IME the Intense is as angular as it gets in the Inferno line--and I've thrown them all.  I don't get *nearly* the change of direction with the Smokin' as I do with the Intense.  However, I do find that my Smokin' is much more versatile than my Intense.

The only other current Big B balls that I've thrown that have rivaled the Intense in angularity are the BVP Rampage and the pearl Power Grooves, although the Zone Classic could come close with the right layout.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried taking the Intense to a smoother grit and then applying polish?

I have not done anything with the surface, it came to me the way it is, I bought it used. I am not even sure what I would guess it is. It is pretty shiny and I have kept the surface clean after every set. I could try that though. What have I got to lose?

There are other coverstocks besides activator...called reactives!

Rampage, Punisher, they will give you true reactive jump!
