Can't really
fault staffers here 'cause that's what they do for their product. I'm not that familiar with Adam (no offense intended) but Mr. Carter has been very helpful with me the two times we've spoken about Big B products. I've got a Nexus Pearl and I am VERY happy with the performance of this product. There's a LOT of success with the Solid in our area. My intention was to get a Nexus Solid for Nationals (I'm guessing I'll be able to find a drilling/surface combo that I'll like regardless of the pattern) but I got a chance to take advantage of a pre-sale on a Defiant. I drilled it 60x4.25x50 and left the surface OOB. IMHO, the ball has all the overall hook, possibly more, than a Nano did without the dropoff in performance to coverstock upgrades. My Nano seemed to lose significant reaction throughout an evening whereas the Defiant seemed extremely consistent from game one all the way through game three. I'm a righty and left only one 10-pin in a set and left four blower 7-pins so there was NO energy burnoff with the Defiant. The only 10-pin I left I deserved and the four sevens were quality shots. You'll need to closely monitor your speed with either of these strong pieces for they'll turn a high flush shot into a 4-pin with only about two or three tenths of a MPH of speed variance. I think you'll see a LOT of these balls in Baton Rouge as first out of bag. Let a few more buyers take advantage of a Defiant, get the info from as many Nexus and Defiant owners that you can, and rest assured that both of these balls are great orbs. Put it this way, if the two of us were choosing, and those were the two choices, I would not mind picking second.
