NEXXUS
« on: February 24, 2012, 04:55:44 AM »
Used for first time last night, and all I can say is it makes my Nano look like a spare ball. I was 5 boards inside everyone else and had more area. I have only used storm for years, but I am so glad I drilled this one up. I just hope it hold up better then the NEXUS solid my friends died after 15 games. So far most hook I have ever seen and no quite or rollout just incredible!

My Nexus solid has well over 50 games on it and its still as strong as the day I got it.. I of course take care of my equipment... I think 15 games is a bit of an exaggeration...

I started this thread to rave about the new NEXXUS not for it to be high jacked, but since you chimed in I would also say my pro shop owners NEXUS has changed quit a bit and he has less then 20 games on it and since he has a spinner and a revivor oven  I'm sure he knows how to take care of it.

I call BS.. I think your intent was to dis credit the Nexus solid.. People love to come on here and spread BS reports about a certain ball dying after 15 or 20 games.. I've been around bowling for over 40 years.. Ive worked at many pro shops plus I've spent many years with the PBA and I've never seen a ball just die after 15 games unless it was a ball from a bad batch... Stop spreading BS rumors about ball death.. Its getting really old,..

I'm sorry I did't realize you worked at the brunswick plant before crossing the border. I'm not spreading B,S. rumors I am just posting what my friend and pro shop owner have said to me. Also I have no axe to grind with the NEXUS Solid since it is related to the NEXXUS the new love of my life.

I tell ya, from what I have seen this ball do out of Sean Rash's hand, it's a big dud.

Rash just won the Regional in Iowa this past weekend with the Nexxus and Hell Raiser Revenge. He shot two 300s (1 with each) on Sunday and clutched up in the 10th to win the final match by 1 stick.

RaginCajun, I guess the Columbia 300 ball in Mika's hands looked even worse...didn't it ?

Rash has been using the (purple/blue) Nexus on TV a lot.  I believe that bowler851 is talking about the new (red/black) Nexxus (two x's).  I'm flipping a coin between the Nexxus or Defiant for my next oiler.  My driller isn't a big Brunswick fan, but thinks the Nexxus would be a good ball for me.

And for the record, even though he hasn't had much success on TV, if Rash used the ball to make the show 5 out of 7 times (just guessing, didn't count the telecasts), I'd say it is pretty darn good.

Never been a big fan of Columbia but yes it did look like poop out of Mikas hand but on the other
hand that dark encounter looked pretty darn good out of Barnes hand. To be honest it looked like
Mika was off his game. He was spraying the ball around quite a bit. I never saw him miss his mark
that many times. Back to the Nexxus,,,, if that ball is an oil monster you could fool me. Rash's
ball is laboring so much in the oil,,, it's no wonder he leaves the splits he does. I'm not a
Big B hater as a matter a fact I love my 4.5 and Siege and Avalanche but that ball looks bad
on T.V.

the reason rashs balls were laboring was becasue he put the pin so freakin far away on an assymetrical ball and it promoted forward roll and loss of energy too early

strider I guess your looking for a ball for oily lanes. Just drilled up the dv8 HRR with the big crank drilling bowled on a 41ft house shot this ball had no trouble turning the corner and crushing the pins.I feel it out hooks the Nexxus solid solid which I also have by 2to 3 boards over all

Thanks for the input, but I have tons of stuff for house shots.  Looking for something for the longer/heavier sport shots.  How the ball reads the pattern is more important than how much it hooks.  I will ask my driller about some of the DV8 stuff, but with my ball speed, I still like balls that are clean through the front part of the lane.  From what I've seen, the DV8 stuff needs a lot of head oil for people like me.
