Powerhouse Factory Polish on Brunswick C4.5
« on: January 19, 2011, 12:58:22 AM »
Has anyone used Powerhouse Factory Polish on the box surface of a Brunswick C System 4.5?  The ball is used on a medium/dry THS.

Thanks,

The molecular structure of the polish is designed to work only with the formulations of the Ebonite covers.  The molecules will slip off of the covers from other manufacturers

+1.  WTF that cat is talking about I have no idea.

Powerhouse Factory Polish will basically add length to aid the ball getting downlane.  Since you are applying to a ball that has some natural length, make sure the underlying grit is where you want it as well as this will affect the ball's length.

LOL...now thats funny!!!!!!! The real answer is....It will make the ball go longer and flip on the backend more, BUT thats not a med-dry lane ball.....Might be able to get away with 4000 and polish for medium. IMHO.

The only polish I've used on my C-System 4.5 is Brunswick's Factory Finish High Polish. It's great for adding more length and a strong backend reaction.

This is exactly what will happen...Unless the polish is run through a Flux Capacitor, then and only then will the molecules attach to the surface of covers from other manufacturers...

Brunswick's polish is usually considered an abrasive. So whatever is grit level is under the polish won't remain there for long.

Powerhouse polish is usually considered a non abrasive. Whatevr grit level is under the polish  will retain more of its effect. So if you start with 1000 grit + this polish and find it too early, resanding with 2000 and adding the same amount of polish will usually get you more length. This effect is seen from the dullest sanding (500 grit), well into the finest sanding (4000 grit)

With Brunswick's polish you'll see less and less difference once you're at about 1500 grit.Remember Brunswick used to apply this polish over 400 grit US/Cami sanding about 10 years ago.

i just recently polished my 4.5 w/brunswick's high gloss & it certainly brought out a long & strong reaction as to when i was using @ 3000 or 4000 abralon. big difference.

Good stuff!  And to think some people took you seriously.  Why the OP thinks this would react differently than any other polish, I have no idea.

I used to use Brunswicks Factory Gloss Polish and still do ocassionally, but I prefer to sand a ball to a specific grit and use a polish that is non-abrasive as I get more consistant results that way. For non-abrasive polishes, I use Ebonite Factory Polish and Valentinos Snake Oil with excellent results. As for the Ebonite Factory Polish slipping off other manufacturers balls, that is not true, not in my case anyhow as I use it on my Storm Virtual Gravity Nano Solid with excellent results.
