C System 2.5 vs Siege
« on: February 10, 2013, 02:57:38 PM »
picked up a used Siege drilled nearly the same (pin up stacked) as my 2.5 with the exception of weight hole placement. the weight hole on the 2.5 is about an inch right of the MB and Siege's weight hole is in the MB. how do these 2 balls compare, I realize one is a solid and the other a pearl. judging by specs and description of each ball, I would expect them to be similar with the Siege having a little smoother but just as quick backend action because it is a solid. is this a fair assessment and are they different enough to justify them being in a 3 ball arsenal together. I currently take the Faball Hammer, Ogre SS, and C System 2.5 to league. the Siege would take the spot the Hammer occupies currently.
My Arsenal                     Son's Arsenal (HG 267, HS 651, HA 177)
Black Hammer(Faball)    Red Zone
Ogre SS                          Mission 2.0
Dirty Look                      Evil Siege
Nexus                             C System 2.5
C System 2.5

No, not as far as I know. The only reason you should be able to use them on the same condition is that it's a house blend where the type of ball hardly makes any difference at all.

FOr the average revs, average ball speed bowler -
The 2.5 was/is a medium oil pearl; can probably handle a little into medium+ and down into medium- oil amounts.
The Siege was their heavy oil ball at the time; yes, it will be smoother and more even reacting but unless you have medium-heavy to heavy oil, with the stock surface it'll probably burn up in the midlane and hit very weakly.

If you're rev dominant or you're speed dominant, that will all change, to one direction of the other.

If you dull the polished 2.5 or you polish up the Siege, you can force them to handle more and less oil respectively and bring their reactions closer together. Dulled, the 2.5 will, of course, be less flippy. Polished the Siege will be more angular but probably not as sharp as the 2.5.

My Siege is a beast. The core is going to be stronger then the 2.5 and the cover should be more aggressive as well. I would assume the Siege could handle more oil easily then the 2.5 The 2.5 would be a great ball to switch to if the Siege were too strong or the lanes started hooking too much. This is assuming both balls were at OOB finish and drilled similar.
