I have. Polished PowerKoil 17 solid on a higher (2.56 - 2.61) RG core with medium-high RG differential, .046" (and therefore, flare). I love the entire idea behind it. Although I did not try one when they first came out (February 2000), I did get one and put it away about 5, 6 months ago.

The Battle Zones, Missle and the 2 pearls, Cannon and Bullet, were largely ignored at the time. (Warning, the Battle Zone Bullet is one of the flippiest balls ever made.)

In my opinion,
PK 17 has many of the same characteristics as PK 18 EXCEPT it's a much more controllable coverstock. 99% of the people who loved the Danger Zone and its flippy PK 18 coverstock were people with less revs and so, they loved the power it gave them. People with some hand tended to like PK 17 balls more.

Charlest,
Thanks.

I picked up 8 balls from my driller.
I'm selling them all.
I like to have half a clue, when I'm selling something.

When the original DZ came out I had the best bowling years of my life, bowling a house wall with the ball. I probably would have liked the other Zones. My driller always pushed me towards Storm, since his pricing was better with Storm.

The Fury and Total Inferno look really enticing.

I had one and hated...IT!  Many loved it.

Many said it was like the Sapphire Zone....OK...not for me...because I have a Sapphire Zone I like!

It seemed the cover was almost skid snappy with it's out of box polish.  Very touchy....I saw others who had used it for a while with a smoother reaction however.

I remembered those back when I just started to bowl. I was looking for ball to start with but I invested it with the HPD and HPH. Now I have to park my car outside the garage for all my bowling balls.
