I have a SmashR that is drilled with CG on PAP, and the pin on a line between the ring finger and the PAP. This ball was supposed to be for Sport patterns, and it's been money for me on these conditions, but I have also found it to be useful for smoothing out side-to-side and front-to-back wet-dry conditions. Given the "trick ball" layout, it's never the first ball out of the bag, but I wouldn't be without it for tournaments.
Oh yes. Bob's point about the mellowing out of the reaction is well taken. So if you're going to leave it in box condition, I'd highly recommend putting a coat of Doc's Magic Bowling Ball Elixir on the ball. This seemed to work for my SmashR.
Hope this helps.
