TPU-X LE Questions
« on: January 12, 2016, 11:58:56 AM »
Ok, so I love the white/black old school color combo on the TPU-X LE shoes. I have two questions for those who may know:

1) Do they sell them in Left Handed Wide size? I haven't even seen them anywhere being offered in Left Handed, never mind wide width LH. I hope they do, I really want a pair.

2) How does the size compare to your normal shoe size. I wear an 11 wide shoe, and also currently wear an 11 wide in my Dexter SST8 bowling shoes. How does the TPU-X LE shoes compare size-wise?

Thanks for the help!

I have a pair of right handed Blue/Blacks, Non-LE.
The Brunswick web page for this shoe,
http://www.bowlwithbrunswick.com/shoes/detail/tpu-x/
shows there are only right handed and right handed wide versions available. It also does not define the difference between the original and the LE version.

That said, have you looked at the right handed version. I needed different sole and heel for my right shoe, the non-sliding, the push-off shoe. The heel is the same for the left and right foot. The sole is shaped differently, though. I strongly suspect (Although I do not know for a fact) that the left handed version has the same shoes as the right handed one, with the only difference being the shape of the soles that come with the sliding foot.

I think you should investigate this further and save yourself a lot of hassles and disappointment. I mean if you only have to buy 2 or 3 different soles to make a right handed version into a left handed version ...

You just have to get the left handed soles, they have them. You can see it here in the 2015 Brunswick shoe catalog

When I emailed customer support on this they said that the only version that come in LH are the Black/Blue TPX model.  The red/black and white/black only come in RH versions.

I don't understand the logic there seeing that they make LH soles, so why not just have red/black and white/black packages with LH soles in them?  Instead, lefties that want a non-blue/black color have to throw away the RH soles in the other color options and buy brand new soles to have that option.

Maybe someone *really* dislikes lefties over there.  ;D

It's probably cost effective. They can't cater to 8% of the bowling population...they gotta make a buck to stay in business.

It is just the color of the soles.  My son is left handed and I gave him a pair of red and black.  He just has a blue sole on the shoe.  No big deal.

Could be?  Although they already make all the individual pieces for the shoes.  It would just be a matter of putting the LH soles that they already have on hand and putting them onto the shoes that they're already making as well.

Sure there is time/effort/cost into doing that but given that the product is already there and just needs to be packaged differently, it seems to me like it would be worth doing to reach another 8% of the population.  I'm not in the shoe business, so I could be wrong. :)

I'll just say that had it not been for a Black Friday deal on the TPU-X shoes that was too good to pass up, I wouldn't have bought a pair simply because they didn't offer them in red/black or white/black.  And I have to think that there are others out there that are selective about colors as well.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will look into the different soles, and if the heels are the same it's just a matter of swapping them to the other foot and good to go. It kind of sucks to have to order the soles separately but not a deal breaker if they're a high quality shoe.
