Help folks
« on: October 06, 2006, 04:01:08 AM »
I have a lady on my team who is in need of a new ball. Her husband wants her to throw the The Big B so I'm coming to you guys for help.  A little background on her. She is currently throwing a Columbia Beast and is 40+. This young lady is currently throwing a 15 we are going to drop her down to a 14. She throws the ball about 11 mph with very little revs and she likes to play round 10. What would ball would you guys suggest to help get her a little more movement. We bowl on a 40 ft oil, synthetic lanes.

Thanks

Tim

11 is pretty slow.  She'd probably be best served with something like a Punisher or Power Groove.  A Rampage might be OK, but you'll have to make sure she keeps it polished.  Anything more aggressive would probably just roll out.

I'd rather err on the weak side.  Adding more surface will make it more aggressive very easy.  Get her something too strong and there's only so much a finer grit of sanding or polish will do.  We bowled a girl last nice that has a beautiful release.  Still not a bunch of revs (guessing more than your friend) and slow speed - 12 to 13 mph.  Her Rampage was a little more ball than she needed, especially because how dry the outside 10 boards are at this house.  If she knew how to play the lanes better and was more comfortable moving left and swinging it right, the Rampage would have giver her a good look.  That's why I thought the Rampage would be the strongest ball I would recommend.
