Violet is the same as a regular green pin, mine is really aggressive.  It's got a lot different look than my red pin, and my red pin is definitely weaker.

Again, take my violet green pin and throw it. You will change your mind. I think maybe some of the GP batch even cured too long. This ball is ALOT weaker than my Dry/R.

is it me or is brunswick just putting different pins in these so they arent considered "seconds or blems"

i personally dont see a problem with that.

if you're talking about putting out defective cover surface and performance related flaws that would not be sanctioned under USBC, then thats a different story. i.e. Bonanza II

I think with the proper layout, PIN closer to PAP than leverage, this ball can be a great control ball for flying backends, pretty much the opposite of the smokin red pin.

I'll be excited to pick one up if I can match the price of my closeout Zone Classic Purple Pearl Green Pin ($45 shipped).

BrunsRich or BrunsBob....any indication of how strong the White Pin Smokin's cover is compared to the Red Pin classic?  Both are hardened Activator.

I plan on getting one, but until I actually throw one I can't give a good answer.

As far as why we change the pin color, I mentioned that it's so we can distinguish between the blems and the regulars. This is just our way of selling the balls that don't come out right.  I don't feel it's us trying to get around/away with anything. It's pretty much right out there telling you that this is not the original version of what we catalog, nothing manipulative about it.

When might these hit distributors? Any idea of how many of these there are?
