Be sure the number's on the box match the ball, I bought 1 of these Re-make Rhinos' 6 months ago, I ordered a 14.3 with 2-3 Pin & 2-3 Top and according to the Box, that is what I received right, we drilled it Pin above the bridge and the Cg on the grip line, the ball should have had a final drilled weight of 14.0 and nearly zero finger weight, instead, this ball still had in excess of 1.2 ounces of Finger weight, guess what, the Cg was totally mis-marked, instead of a 2-3 Pin, it was closer to a 5 inch pin, if I drilled the fingers deeper to remove the Finger weight, I would have ended up with a heavy 13 pound Purple Rhino, so I dumped it and I have not drilled another Made In Mexico ball!

Uh... if the pin out was 5" wouldn't that put the excess weight in the thumb side, not the fingers?

Not a very plausible argument.

Lets be realistic here Ric, he could have a 9" span.

my suggestion would be to take a medium solid reactive ball.  1000 abrolon finish on the cover.  put the pin in the palm and swing the cg/mb 45 degrees.  use a shorter pin ball also

First of all it your responsibility to weigh the ball before drilling.

So whats printed on the box is not right ?

Why would a compay print the wrong info on the box ?

I had one of the originals.  I still have it stored away.  I had a lot of honor scores with that ball.

Sounds like the remake might be a good ball for the Cheetah pattern on wood surfaces.

Whats funny to me is how people talk about how weak this ball is in todays terms. I tried one back when they were first introduced and at the time my strongest ball was a Purple Hammer. Well the Purple Pro did circles around it obviously. What it really did was magnify how bad my release was at the time as that was over/under city depending on how bad I released the ball.
