I did a little reading and found that the symetric core of the inferno series seem to like a label drilling.

So my driller and I layed it out label leverage, CG under palm, Pin about 3.75" from PAP and even with the ring finger (safe for flare, I'm a high track player)

the ball started as 15.2 lb./3.2 top/3" pin

After drilling it is 1/8 oz negative side, 0 top, and a hair of finger weight......

I know I shouldn't be scared, but I am a little.... I keep thinking of the old urethane days of wanting Positive side and some top left after drilling.

I should probably check some of my other equipment, to see what they are....I'm just starting to really work hand in hand with a driller and being involved in the drilling/layout process....

Info on me= Medium to med fast ball speed, not quite a cranker but not too far away, a lot of axis rotation (I'm learning to stay behind it better, but after 16 years of bowling, it is tough) PAP is 5"over  x 1/4" up from grip centerline.  I average 207 and it isn't an easy shot....

I was hoping for a heavy oil ball that would read about 1/2 way down and move with authority.....

think I'll have it?  I can't throw it until tueday night in league......DARN!

1st let me clarify that I'm just learning layouts and I don't do my own drilling (yet).....been bowling a long time and always relied on one person to drill....well he moved away, before him it was Brian Purcell (big ebonite R&D guy now).

So I'm reading a lot...that way I can only blame myself if I don't like a reaction.

What I've read on symmetrical cores is that the mass bias isn't as affecting as in an asymmetrical ball.  Also I've read that you can kill the reaction of the core in the raging's with exotic layouts....most said to keep it simple.  Looking on some site's with Chris Barnes info showed that a lot of his drills are label oriented, again simple.  Even the inferno he threw yesterday was a label drill with the pin above his bridge.

Any thoughts on your preference of layouts?  I'm certainly up for any information and knowledge....Believe me I'm not saying I'm right, just repeating what I understand so far thru reading.....
