PG Dry/R mini-mini- review
« on: April 19, 2005, 12:37:46 AM »
I had this ball drilled yesterday.

pin in ring cg kicked out a little with no weight hole.

I tried on the a fresh THS pattern. I could swing my shiny med oil reactive 12 out to 8 and crush it. the PG dry? hit the 6 pin on the same line !DART!

once the lanes broke down at the end of the 2rd game I had moved out to 25 and was coming up high with my absolute power, I decide to move right and see what this ball can do. played it straight up the 8 and no over reaction. in all probability the lanes were not dry enough!

the balls color does not really stand out. it's like watching a dark green marble going down lone. this ball is so straight that it looks like a straight ball going and going, then at about 50 feet it turn left nice and easy. you definitely want to know this ball well before whipping it out just to see what happens.

the hit and carry are pretty good. I have owed many "dry" lane balls. the V2 dry,Dry heat, Faball blue pearl hammer, 135 deg pearl Blade( exotic drilling) etc..

it is very close to the reaction of the blue pearl hammer in overall boards but it hits harder and moves more in the back end instead of the midlane like urethanes will. the ball has no problem caring in the pocket and because the lane may not have been dry enough I did not get any room for error.Once I get it on real dry lanes I will see if it open the pocket up.

sometimes I do some goofy stuff at the line and a stronger reactive may carry. this ball is about accuracy. maybe a high rev guy can get a little better reaction on a broken down shot that I can. so you get what you deserve when you throw it. had I been any good I should have shot 250+ and maybe a chance at a 300.

so if your looking for a ball to move back right 5 to 10 boards(maybe 15!). this is it. Unless you are a cranker this will be a very tame ball. this is quite possible the best dry lane ball I have ever thrown. I can not wait to try it on a real bone dry lane.for sure it is a step down from light oil balls like the V2 clean, hot rod, green gargoyle

it's not often that ball companies make niche balls like this. the best 90 buck I ever spent on a ball.

Get it! You want it! you know you got to have it!
