Brunswick in Mexico

I heard a rumor Brunswick was moving all factories to Mexico. If this is true. I will be changing my line of balls. Plenty of bowling balls being made in the great U.S.A.

For those of you that are using Dexter's where are they made? I am sure it is not in the USA.

According to Dexter's web site, that's true. They have, according to a quote on their FAQ page, "developed offshore manufacturing facilities that could maintain our high standards for quality."

Another statement from that same Q & A hits this entire issue squarely in my opinion - "As much as consumers would like to support American manufacturers, most people will buy the products that offer the best value for the price, regardless of where they're made."

That's the bottom line for most of us in just about everything we buy. We look for the best quality at a price we can afford. Where the product comes from is generally of secondary importance. Check out the "made in" tags next time you're purchasing clothes or other products. It's not about waking up or growing up in my view. It's simply the way things are. I would personally prefer to always buy items made in the USA. But the fact is many of the items I find that I like or need and can afford come from other countries, in whole or in part.

The whole discussion makes me think of those bumper stickers that used to read, "If you're hungry, eat your import." Anymore though, you'd have to ask such a person what part of their Ford, GM, or Chrysler product they would care to dine on first, considering how many parts come from outside the U.S.

I'd rather that Brunswick made their equipment in the United States, but if the quality and price remain consistent, the fact that they come from outside the country probably won't stop many Americans from buying them, myself included.

My point exactly. Thanks for saying this as well.
